Archeon offers low-bulk services (10-100 discs), complete with a full-fledged authoring service and solution. This means we will prepare the raw media you have, enhance it where possible and when requested, create unique and interactive menus and chapters, and burn the media to discs for you to distribute to your family and friends, or perhaps even business partners.
The authoring process has flat-rate fees that are based on your selections and compound as additional services are added or required. With flat-rate fees and materials costs, we can keep the cost within a cost-effective margin.
Need more than 100 discs? Not an issue, simply provide your media and we will author a single disc for you, with a backup of the disc in ISO format on a flash drive. This single disc can then be sent to a disc pressing and production manufacturer of your choice to be mass-produced. Most pressing facilities can convert it to DDP/BDCMF format, add region restrictions and protections as required.
You can request a 15-minute sample disc at no charge. We will produce a minimal interactive menu with 15 minutes of footage and a single chapter marker as a demo.
Don't need discs at all? Not a problem. Archeon is happy to edit, clip and form raw video into a presentable format for digital distribution or online upload. You can request your media files in any file format for immidiate download, shipped on USB, or even have us go through the entire authoring process and simply provide you with an ISO file for burning as needed at your own home (your own disc master file essentially).

DVD Authoring
DVD's have been a solid home entertainment staple since 1995. Offering the highest compatibility in all modern-day set-top players, PC's, Laptops and consoles.
Authored at 480 vertical pixels, it will look its best on most standard televisions while retaining some detail on pre-modern HD televisions. It will look blurred and heavily pixilated on modern UHD units.
Overall: DVD is the best in choice for guaranteed player compatibility. If you need discs that will play in nearly anything, DVD is a solid go-to choice. DVD playback on newer devices may appear grainy or pixelated, however, some players are now able to upscale DVD content to make it look slightly better.

Bluray Authoring
Bluray emerged as the victor in the HD Optical Disc Format War after two years against Toshiba's HD-DVD. Guaranteed to play on most Bluray set-top units without issues, but compatibility across other devices will depend on whether or not they can facilitate bluray playback to begin with.
Authored at 1,080 vertical pixels, it boasts 6x the resolution of DVD's. It will look its best on most pre-modern full HD televisions, while retaining most of its detail on Ultra HD televisions. It will begin to look blurred and heavily pixilated on state of the art 8K & 16K UHD units.
Overall: Bluray is the best in choice for sharp and vibrant image quality. Stands out as a good middle choice.

4K UHD Authoring * *
4K Ultra HD Bluray discs are the current industry standard. Playback is limited to 4K disc players, Playstation 5 and certain XBOX units only. Some PC's may also be able to play them.
Authored at 2,160 vertical pixels, 4K Ultra HD is by far the most state of the art in optical disc quality and manufacturing. If you are looking for the best in picture quality, this is it!
Overall: 4K is the current leading standard, but is not as widespread. Not everyone will have 4K Bluray players. While the most exceptional format and clearly the best for quality, you may encounter family, friends or clients unable to play UHD discs. Ask around first.

Subtitle Authoring
We can compose a subtitle file for use with discs, hand-written and time-matched. This process is only for raw video, disc authoring sold separately.

* NOTICE: Archeon does not author discs in 8K or 16K. We can edit, cut, produce or upscale media to 8K and 16K and issue raw video files, but we do not author discs. There are very few 8K players, and no 16K players. There is no known 8K discs in production yet either. Furthermore, only 1080P and 4K footage are likely candidates for upscaling as upscaling a 480p (DVD) or 720p (low-res bluray) to 8K/16K will likely produce a great deal of artifacts, frame blending or unwanted results overall.
PLEASE NOTE: Our DVD's, Bluray and 4K discs are authored in raw VOB and BDMV format. We do not offer authoring in DDP or BDCMF for mass replication. We are also not able to offer CSS or AACS protections as those are applied to the DDP or BDCMF during glass mastering at a professional production facility. If you order a single raw disc from us for mastering, you will still need to outsource DDP/BDCMF conversion and mass-production to another third-party.
